The Big Red Nose Day Bake Sale Success!

Posted: 3rd April 2017

Williamsons are proud to announce that our Big Red Nose Day Bake Sale raised an impressive £223.05 for Comic Relief!

The money earned goes to a number of important causes. This year the main focus is on malaria awareness in Africa and domestic violence within the UK.

We’re fully on board with Comic Relief’s motto of helping ‘make the world a better place, simply by enjoying yourself.’ The team here certainly had fun doing so!

Early on Friday morning the outlook wasn’t so good and director Michael Williamson found himself making an early morning dash to Yeovil. “The forecast for Friday had been good all week but at 5.30 it looked pretty miserable,” explained Michael. “The ‘contingency cover’ we had lined up was actually far too big for the location so by 7.30 I was in B&Q picking up an emergency gazebo!”

“As it was the rain held off during the morning and early afternoon but the presentation was good and our hardworking ladies did a roaring trade almost managing to sell every one of the vast number of cakes that they had baked between them.”

A big, big thank you to everyone who stopped by, bought our cakes and donated. See you again next year!
