Running for charity

Posted: 2nd August 2016

FinishStaff at Williamsons helped to raise more money for charity this summer by taking part in the Crewkerne 5K Business Challenge. Three of our team - Tasha Manley, Tracey Martin and Jessica Clements - were quick to step up to the mark!

The event was organised by Crewkerne Running Club to raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice. A host of other businesses and local running enthusiasts turned out to run the Business Challenge and the full 10 kilometre run.  This opportunity to support and come together as a local community proved very successful with an impressive £1500 raised through entry fees and the proceeds from a  cakes and refreshments stall.

Williamsons were also glad to support the Crewkerne Lurcher and Terrier Show earlier in the year, where another £470 was raised for St Margaret’s Hospice.

Vital in aiding those who need hospice care, St. Margaret’s Hospice is widely known for the support it also gives to families and carers. Money raised from events like these in Crewkerne help fund essential training and purchase of equipment needed in local clinics.

Director Michael Williamson said, “We’re proud to be involved in the effort and our team is already in training for next year!”
