Court of Appeal Backs Council Worker

A and EA council worker who sued his employer after cutting his hand when clearing garden rubbish has won his case in the Court of Appeal. Stephen Threlfall claimed that the gloves provided by Hull City Council offered inadequate protection to his hands.
The matter turned, said LJ Smith, on whether the proposed item of protective equipment would ‘prevent or adequately control the identified risk of injury’.
