About Williamsons

Williamsons is a new(ish) legal firm created by Michael Williamson who has more than twenty-five years experience as a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, twenty of those as a partner or owner of a legal practice. As well as a broad range of business and private disputes we deal with specific contentious areas of employment and personal injury. We are also pleased to offer corporate and commercial property services, personal estate planning and administration.

Michael Williamson

MRW2Michael grew up in the Lancashire seaside town of Southport, not too many years ago! In fact he has the distinction of being a Sandgrounder, three generations born in the town. After leaving King George V Grammar School he gained a degree in law at Liverpool University and studied for his Solicitor’s Final Examination in Chester.

The big leap south came in 1984 when he joined Clarke Willmott where he progressed from trainee to equity partner in the course of the next seven years. He was a founder of The Stokes Partnership and Managing Partner and Head of Litigation there for over eleven years before forming Williamsons in December 2009.

Michael has lived in Crewkerne for the last twenty-seven years, most of those with his long-suffering wife, Donna, and their three children. When he is not busy around the home and garden or in front of a computer, Michael will be found practising archery, having a quiet half with friends or perhaps picking up a curry!
